The standard of living of Indians is on rise, and as a causal effect of this the demand for branded saloons is also rising day by day, some experts have estimated a year on year rise of 40% for this industry.
With the lucrative growth estimates, the competition in the industry will rise steeply, the product differentiations may be also very negligible then, in such a business scenario one of the advantage the players in the market should have, is a brand name.
In Panjim and Calangute, SNIP has taken a lead to establish itself as the most preferred brand for saloon and spa and has a big list of regular and satisfied customers.
In this article I want to highlight some of the important initiatives which SNIP has to take up now onwards to build its brand more stronger so that it can withstand the tough competition from deep pocket players waiting to enter in this market like Hindustan lever is planning Lakme saloons across India, Javid Habib is already present in Goa.
- Customer relationship Management (CRM) : Should be the top priority on the cards for SNIP now, they already have a huge database of loyal customers, this advantage is not there with other players, if SNIP builds a system which is a combination of personal touch and technological conveniences for its customers, it will be difficult for competition to face this advantage. A branding initiative to highlight this advantage needs to be undertaken to attract new customers. In this process SNIP has to define its customers and study your customers to ensure proper direction and focus on the CRM initiative.
- Increase the Number of outlets: These outlets could be either self owned or a franchise. Presence across Goa will strengthen the brand"s image as a Top player with strong financial strength, building a perception that your a elite and deep pocket brand always help, especially in Luxury Industry. Note: This option may be applicable only if the management has financial strength and the goal of spreading its presence.
- Media Selection for Advertising: Online marketing through Google, Facebook and twitter has to be a continuous affair. First of all, the SNIP's website needs to be worked upon, it should be made more interactive and vibrant. Travel and Tourism magazines subscribed by hotels needs to be selected for advertising. Should avoid heavy usage of newspaper ads.
These initiatives will help SNIP for Brand Positioning. Today the position of being the most preferred brand is vacant in this industry. The early movers who work towards building their brand on all parameters of Service, Product range, Trust, Uniqueness and Consistency can position itself as the leader of the industry.
There are various other brand positioning that SNIP can look forward at in this industry.
Eg: Be the most Luxurious brand or the most economical (value for Money) among other players.
Can look ahead to be the top most in any one of the above parameters viz. Service, Product range, Trust etc.
In a nutshell, taking up branding initiatives is something that SNIP has to focus on in this coming time.
